David Schmidt

David Schmidt is a Senior Vice President with KeyBank Real Estate Capital. Mr. Schmidt is responsible for the origination of multifamily permanent loan transactions within the Central U.S. for KeyBank.  In this capacity, Mr. Schmidt manages a team of mortgage professionals with a primary emphasis on sourcing multifamily mortgage transactions for a variety of capital sources including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, CMBS and Life Insurance Companies.  

Prior to his current role with KeyBank, Mr. Schmidt was a Director for Red Capital Group where he was responsible for the origination of multifamily and senior housing transactions in the Southwest.  Before his tenure with Red Capital, David was a Director with AMRESCO/Lend Lease in Dallas with a focus on multifamily and senior housing transactions.  Mr. Schmidt began his career as a Vice President with Carey, Kramer Co. in Miami, FL providing commercial mortgage banking services to clients in the southeast. 

Mr. Schmidt has 23 years of diversified real estate experience on a national level. He has been involved in the origination, processing and underwriting of transactions involving all types of commercial real estate, with a particular specialization in multifamily.  During his career, David has worked with a comprehensive group of commercial mortgage financing sources and has provided over $1 billion of closed loans for his clients.
